Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using DoppelGit ("the Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

DoppelGit is a browser extension that allows users to interact with GitHub's services using multiple GitHub Personal Access Tokens (PATs). The Extension enables you to create pull requests, post comments, and file issues using different GitHub identities ("doppels") without changing your browser's logged-in GitHub account.

3. Requirements

To use DoppelGit, you must:

  • Have a compatible web browser (Google Chrome or Chromium-based browsers)
  • Have valid GitHub Personal Access Tokens for each doppel you configure
  • Comply with GitHub's Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policies
  • Be authorized to use the GitHub accounts associated with your PATs

4. Account and Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your GitHub Personal Access Tokens
  • All activities that occur through your configured doppels
  • Ensuring your PATs have appropriate permissions and haven't expired
  • Keeping your encryption passphrase secure (if encryption is enabled)

DoppelGit stores your PATs locally on your device. We recommend enabling the optional encryption feature for additional security.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use DoppelGit to:

  • Impersonate others without authorization
  • Circumvent GitHub's security measures or Terms of Service
  • Engage in spam, harassment, or any malicious activity
  • Automate actions in violation of GitHub's rate limits or policies
  • Access repositories or perform actions you're not authorized to perform

Violations may result in termination of your license to use DoppelGit.

6. Subscription and Billing

DoppelGit offers:

  • Free Plan: Limited to 1 doppel and 10 actions/day, no credit card required
  • DoppelGit Pro: $4.99/month or $49/year (save 18%)

Payments are processed through ExtensionPay and Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to their respective terms of service. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your billing period.

7. Refunds

Due to the nature of digital products, refunds are generally not provided. However, if you experience technical issues that prevent you from using DoppelGit, please contact us and we'll work to resolve the issue or provide a refund at our discretion.

8. Intellectual Property

DoppelGit and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the DoppelGit team and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Extension without prior written consent.

9. Third-Party Services

DoppelGit integrates with:

  • GitHub: For API operations (creating PRs, comments, issues)
  • ExtensionPay: For subscription management
  • Stripe: For payment processing

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. DoppelGit is not responsible for the availability or functionality of third-party services.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

DoppelGit is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation

We do not warrant that DoppelGit will meet your requirements or that any errors will be corrected.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DoppelGit and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or tokens
  • Loss of access to GitHub accounts
  • Unauthorized access due to compromised credentials
  • Any damages arising from your use of the Extension

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Extension in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DoppelGit, its creators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Extension
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of GitHub's Terms of Service
  • Your infringement of any third-party rights

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to DoppelGit immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your license to use the Extension ends
  • You should uninstall the Extension
  • Locally stored data remains on your device until you remove it

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of DoppelGit after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
